This new jailbreak tweak colorizes Home Screen’s app delete buttons based on the dominant color

If you’re interested in a dead-simple way to spruce up your jailbroken handset’s Home Screen without going over the top, then you might find a newly released and free jailbreak tweak called AppColorClose (iOS 12+) by iOS developer PoomSmart to be an aesthetically pleasing addition.

This tweak lurks in the background, almost unnoticeably so, until you put your iPhone or iPad’s Home Screen into editing mode, also sometimes referred to as ‘jiggle’ mode, or the mode in which you can move app icons around and delete unwanted apps.

Upon entering editing mode with the AppColorClose (iOS 12+) tweak installed, the buttons used to initiate an app deletion will appear colorized to match the dominant color of the app icon in question, as depicted in the screenshot example above.

As an example, the Music app icon now has a red delete button, while the FaceTime and Messages app icons now have a green delete button and the App Store app now has a blue delete button. Obviously, some of these apps can’t be deleted, so these buttons correspond to hiding those apps instead, except in the case of apps that actually can be deleted.

AppColorClose (iOS 12+) works it’s magic automatically based on the dominant color of your app icons, so there aren’t any options to configure. That said, you won’t need to do any color-matching yourself.

If you’re interested in giving AppColorClose (iOS 12+) a try, then you can download it for free from PoomSmart’s personal repository via your favorite package manager app. The tweak supports jailbroken devices running iOS or iPadOS 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16.

Anyone who isn’t already taking advantage of PoomSmart’s personal repository can add it to their package manager app by using the URL below:
