Ever wished you could have a full library of Apple’s SF Symbols graphics on your mobile device? If so, then a new jailbreak app called Symbols by iOS developer MTAC will be your best friend.
You can already get a dedicated SF Symbols app on your Mac by way of a special app that Apple provides as a separate download, but the same app unfortunately doesn’t exist for mobile devices. That’s where Symbols comes into play.
As shown above, Symbols adds a new app to your Home Screen that you can launch to reveal a full list of Apple’s SF Symbols. You can then tap on any symbol to reveal an exporting menu where you can export those symbols however you see fit.
If you’re using these symbols in the development of an app or as a visual aid in an image, you can use this Symbols app to do so on a mobile device.
According to MTAC, the app doesn’t use any copyrighted Apple assets, and instead displays what’s already a part of iOS & iPadOS. The developer also warns that users should only attempt to use these images with iOS, macOS, and tvOS.
If you’re interested in learning more about how Symbols works, then you can visit the package’s GitHub page where it’s currently open source. Anyone who’d like to try it out can do so on their jailbroken iOS or iPadOS 14, 15, or 16 device via MTAC’s personal repository in their favorite package manager app.
Not using MTAC’s repository yet? No problem. Just as the following URL to your preferred package manager to gain access to a cache of wonderful treasures:
