The Odyssey Team’s aging Taurine jailbreak tool, originally designed for iOS & iPadOS 14.0-14.3 devices only, has recently started picking up support for later iterations of iOS & iPadOS 14.
The move started approximately one month ago with Taurine v1.1.7 beta adding support for iOS & iPadOS 14.4-14.8.1 for a limited subset of testers by way of the kfd exploit, and starting today, Taurine v1.1.7 is now out of beta and available for everyone to use.
Published to the official Taurine website, the new v1.1.7 release touts the following change log:
– Introduce support for devices running iOS & iPadOS 14.4-14.8.1
– Include a system-wide OldABI patch for iOS & iPadOS 14.4-14.8.1
Citing an announcement shared in the Discord channel, we can ascertain that Taurine v1.1.7 utilizes a built-in implementation of OldABI that comes enabled by default.
The team says that OldABI is incredibly efficient and that the newfangled firmware support includes older arm64 devices as well as newer arm64e devices.
Folks who are running iOS & iPadOS 14.5 or newer, and who decide to jailbreak with Taurine, are strongly advised to take advantage of Libhooker New ABI, which is going to be important for jailbreak tweak hooking to work properly.
Obviously, this update isn’t necessary if you’re already jailbroken on an older version of iOS or iPadOS 14 by way of Taurine, but if you have a newer version than 14.3, then you may want to take advantage of the new support to enjoy a jailbreak once more.
We have a step-by-step tutorial that shows you how to take full advantage of the Taurine jailbreak tool by sideloading it with AltStore. Anyone who wants to download Taurine can get it from the following URL:

It’s worth noting that the latest Taurine update comes on the same day that Apple has released iOS & iPadOS 17 to the general public.
