Among announcements by veteran jailbreak developers this week as they roll with punches and adapt to an ever-changing jailbreak community is one by theme designer Thientam Bach (@Surenix), who said their classic ayeris theme would move to the Chariz repository.
The ayeris theme was previously hosted on the BigBoss repository and then the Dynastic Repo repository after that, but as the former doesn’t hosts paid jailbreak tweaks and the latter has shuttered, Bach is turning to Chariz as the latest hosting platform.
If you’ve heard of ayeris before and you’re feeling some sort of déjà vu, then we promise you’re not going crazy. The theme has been around for 10 years next month, and it has a lot of loyal fans to stand behind it.
Previously, ayeris came with a full catalog of Home Screen app icons, alternative UI glyphs for apps such as Mail and Safari, and even custom wallpapers. But the latest build of ayeris will be a bit slimmed down because of how much iOS has changed over the years.
Instead, Bach tells us that ayeris will focus primarily on a great Home Screen app icon experience as well as Settings app icons. Users can also submit requests for new icons so that they can have a complete Home Screen experience.
When ayeris hits the Chariz repository in the near future, it should be fully ready to take advantage of the latest user interfaces on the latest firmware. It can be applied using the SnowBoard theme manager.
