Resentment is a near carbon-copy of the iOS 16 Lock Screen Now Playing UI for jailbroken iOS 14-15 devices

At the end of last year, iOS developer uz.ra released a jailbreak tweak called HALO to bring an iOS 16-like Lock Screen Now Playing interface to jailbroken iOS 15 devices. But building off of this concept, uz.ra this week launched a new jailbreak tweak called Resentment.

According to the developer, Resentment is intended to be a 99% carbon copy of the iOS 16 Lock Screen’s Now Playing interface for iOS 14 and 15 devices. This compares to HALO, which was only an iOS 16-inspired design as opposed to a carbon copy.

As noted in the tweak’s depiction, users can tap on the album artwork expand or minimize it, garnished with animations. The experience is complemented by a background blur and other finishing touches that boost aesthetics.

As for configuration, Resentment adds a dedicated preference pane to the Settings app where users can configure a few different options to their liking:

Things you can do here include:

  • Toggling Resentment on or off on demand
  • Enabling or disabling the background blur
  • Enabling or disabling haptic feedback
  • Centering the label when maximizing the album artwork

A Respring button is provided at the top-right of the preference pane so that users can save any changes they make here.

The developer is currently working on an update that will enable users to choose their preferred artwork animation (panning or zooming) and adjust the landscape mode position, among other things.

If you’re interested in giving Resentment a try.c then you can purchase the tweak for $2.49 from the Havoc repository via your favorite package manager app. The developer also noted in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that owners of the HALO tweak would get $1 off the purchase price, bringing it down to $1.49.

Resentment appears to support jailbroken iOS 14 and 15 devices at this time.
