There were a couple of important announcements made by the palera1n team on Wednesday, and unless you’ve been playing close attention, they would’ve been easy to miss.
The first announcement involved the addition of @dora2ios to the palera1n team, a developer who is known for their efforts involving tools such as bakera1n and kok3shi:
Secondly, the palera1n team shared a screenshot of the palera1n jailbreak app appearing to show that an iPhone X running iOS 16.4 had been jailbroken with the tool:
The second announcement was followed by a Tweet from @dora2ios, who said they added iOS & iPadOS 16.4 support to palera1n, but that it was only currently supported in rootless mode; not rootful mode:
The palera1n team hasn’t officially updated the palera1n-c jailbreak tool with iOS & iPadOS 16.4 support as of yet, so it’s safe to say that the newfangled support is preliminary and still being tested before it gets released to the general public.
Regardless, this is great news because there was no telling when iOS & iPadOS 16.4, which were released to the general public this week, would be supported. The new collaboration between @dora2ios and the palera1n team appears to be fast-tracking the progress, which is good for everyone.
We’re sure it won’t be long before the palera1n team releases an official update, but there’s no ETA at this time. You can download the latest version of palera1n-c from the palera1n team’s official palera.in
website and follow us for updates as they happen to stay in the know.
As always, palera1n-c only supports iOS 15.0-16.x on A9-A11 chip-equipped devices up to and including the iPhone X due to the fact that it depends on the checkm8 hardware-based bootrom exploit. The palera1n-c jailbreak will never support newer devices.
