Palera1n jailbreak team updates website with user-friendly download links

The palera1n jailbreak team made an important step toward making its jailbreak more user-friendly Friday afternoon after updating the official palera.in website to reflect the tool’s latest release(s) and automatically detect the user agent to make downloading the correct tool easier.

News about the update to the palera1n team’s website was first shared via the palera1n Discord server, and from what we can gather, the team appears to be excited about it.

The website displays release information for the palera1n-c jailbreak, the C-based re-write of the now deprecated legacy palera1n jailbreak tool for checkm8 bootrom exploit-susceptible devices (A9-A11 chip-equipped handsets running iOS or iPadOS 15.0-16.x).

While this is exactly the same file and information that could have been obtained from the palera1n team’s GitHub page, a dedicated website is more attractive to end users who may want to experience the palera1n jailbreak in all its glory without navigating the GitHub repository and selecting the correct download for their computer themselves.

In other words, the user agent detection means that you’re using an Apple Silicon Mac, then it will automatically recommend the ARM_64 build over the X86_64 build, and vice versa if you’re using an Intel-based Mac. It will also distinguish between macOS and Linux to ensure you’re getting the correct download for your machine.

If you’re going to be trying palera1n out for yourself, then you can now head over to the palera1n team’s official website to download the latest version of the palera1n-c tool for your device(s) and then follow the steps outlined in our tutorial to get jailbroken.

The URL to the palera1n website is as follows:

The palera1n jailbreak is still developer-centric at this point in time and still requires the use of Terminal to jailbreak. Worth noting, however, is that the tool is becoming more user friendly as time goes on, and a GUI could come in the future, although there’s no ETA for that at this time.

Do you like the new website-based palera1n download method more than using GitHub? Be sure to let us know in the comments section down below.
