If you like how fluid and capable that multitasking feels on the iPad, then you probably wish your iPhone’s multitasking capabilities were up to par. Sadly, they aren’t; but with a new and free jailbreak tweak called medousa by uz.ra, you can get the multitasking experience that you’ve been hoping for on your iPhone.
As you’ve likely already been able to discern for yourself in the screenshot examples above, medousa makes it easier to operate with multiple apps at any given time. Not only does it provide iPhone users with the iPad-style App Switcher, but you can also overlay app interfaces over the top of other apps like so:
While the tweak is still slightly buggy in its current form, it’d certainly a step in the right direction for those who feel that the iPhone’s multitasking user experience just isn’t enough to boost workflow performance.
We should also note that while medousa works on both rootless and rootful iOS 15 and 16 devices, some users have reported in the /r/jailbreak release thread that it doesn’t work on the Dopamine jailbreak, leaving just the palera1n jailbreak for older devices as the only compatible option.
The developer appears to be working to support Dopamine in the future, but it’s unknown currently when official support will launch.
If you’re interested in giving medousa a try, then you can download it for free from uz-ra’s personal repository using your favorite package manager app. Anyone who isn’t already taking advantage of uz-ra’s repository can add it to their package manager app of choice by using the URL provided below:
