After much anticipation, the Dopamine jailbreak tool by Lars Fröder (@opa334) for arm64e devices running iOS & iPadOS 15.0-15.4.1 (previously known as Fugu15 Max) was officially released to the masses Tuesday evening.
Originally teased in the middle of April, Fröder announced Dopamine’s release in a Tweet, shown below, which links to an /r/jailbreak thread with the official download page.
Dopamine is a rootless jailbreak, but it features a full-fledged user interface, support for tweak injection, and fixes the Wi-Fi bug originally present in Linus Henze’s Fugu15 jailbreak that Dopamine is heavily based on.
Given that only arm64e (A12+) devices are supported by Dopamine, this means that the iPhone XS and newer can be used with it if they’re running the supported iOS & iPadOS 15.0-15.4.1 firmware.
Notably, older devices with A9-A11 chips inside aren’t supported by Dopamine, but they can be jailbroken on iOS & iPadOS 15.x-16.x with the checkm8 bootrom exploit-based palera1n-c jailbreak tool instead.
Dopamine can be installed on compatible devices by way of the TrollStore perma-signing utility, which means that the jailbreak app will remain signed indefinitely and not require re-signing every seven days like previous semi-untethered jailbreak tools would.
As always, we will have a detailed step-by-step tutorial up shortly.
