Def1nit3lyN0tAJa1lbr3akTool v1.0.1 released to fix crash and improve jailbreak stability

It was only a week ago that we reported on the Def1nit3lyN0tAJa1lbr3akTool semi-untethered Kernel File Descriptor (KFD) exploit-based jailbreak tool for arm64 devices running iOS & iPadOS 15.7 and 16.0-16.6.1 officially coming out of beta.

Since that original v1.0 release, the developer behind the Def1nit3lyN0tAJa1lbr3akTool project, KpwnZ (A.K.A. Ny4aa), has released an updated build in the form of version 1.0.1.

Citing a post shared to X (formerly Twitter) by the developer, Def1nit3lyN0tAJa1lbr3akTool v1.0.1 brings the following changes and improvements over the previous release:

– Fixed jailbreakd crash
– Fixed a problem about setuid() call

The update is minor but helps to make Def1nit3lyN0tAJa1lbr3akTool more stable for end users by addressing crashes and issues identified in the previous build.

If you’re an existing user, then you should update to the latest build at your earliest convenience to patch over your jailbreak with the latest fixes. New and prospective users should begin with the latest version available.

Def1nit3lyN0tAJa1lbr3akTool is available as a free download from the project’s GitHub page and can be perma-signed with the TrollStore utility — no computer necessary. Due to being a semi-untethered jailbreak, you will need to boot back into a jailbroken state every time you perform a hard reboot.

Supported devices are the arm64 variety, which means iPhone X and older. If you have an iPhone XS or newer on firmware newer than iOS 15.4.1, then you should wait for the Dopamine 2 jailbreak to release instead.

Are you using the latest version of Def1nit3lyN0tAJa1lbr3akTool? Let us know why or why not in the comments section down below.
