CleanPrefs for MacDirtyCow condenses all the preference panes in your Settings app

The Settings app is the primary place where iPhone users can change device behavior and options, but depending on your tastes, you might find the organization to be less than optimal.

If this sounds like you, then you might come to appreciate a free add-on for the MacDirtyCow exploit for iOS 15.0-16.1.2 devices called CleanPrefs by iOS developer HackZy.

As you might be able to tell from the before and after screenshot examples above, CleanPrefs consolidates all your Settings app’s preference cells instead of having them separated as they come out of the box.

The space savings acquired from this UI change is minimal, but any screen real estate gained can be considered a plus to an average user. It equates to less scrolling and more doing, which anyone could agree can be a good thing.

On the other hand, losing the sense of organization can make the Settings app feel a bit more chaotic, which is one reason why I don’t think CleanPrefs will be for everyone. Apple has specifically partitioned individual sections of the Settings app to make it easier to navigate.

If you’re interested in the condensed Settings app offered by the CleanPrefs add-on, then you can download it for free from the Misaka package manager app. Those who aren’t already using Misaka can follow our tutorial to install it on their MacDirtyCow-capable device.

Are you a fan of the redesigned Settings app, or do you prefer the stock organization? Let us know in the comments section down below.
