Google’s Pixel 7a is a remarkably powerful budget Android phone; it packs in the same Tensor G2 chip as the pricier Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, outdone only by Google’s more recently released Pixel 8 lineup. In addition to the sophisticated AI and computational photography features the Pixel phones have become famous for, you’re also getting a 90Hz full-HD OLED display, a great camera system, and some fun new colors.
Perhaps even more significantly, the Pixel 7a is also the first of Google’s A-series phones to add support for wireless charging. It’s a nice bonus, even if it’s not quite as fast as on Google’s pricier flagships. The lower speed means it can be trickier to find a wireless charger that gives you the best bang for your buck since many will deliver more power than the Pixel 7a can use. We’ve rounded up a list of some of the best picks below that will fulfill your Pixel 7a’s needs without breaking the bank.
-
Anker 335 Wireless Charger
Best overallAnker’s 335 Wireless Charger provides an adjustable stand that can prop up your Pixel 7a while it’s charging, plus room to juice up a set of Pixel Buds or other wireless earbuds while you’re at it. Although the circular charging mount is designed for an Apple Watch charger, DIYers have had success adapting it for a Pixel Watch puck, but you can also just plug it into the USB port on the back and lay it flat beside the stand.
-

Premium pickAlthough a bit expensive, the Google Pixel Stand (2nd Gen) is one of the best wireless chargers for Pixel-series smartphones. And it comes bundled with a USB-C cable and a 30W Google power brick, so you can charge right out of the box.

-
Nanami Wireless Charger Pad
Bundled with a power brick, the Nanami Wireless Charger Pad comes ready to use. All you have to do is plug it in, and it’ll start topping up your Pixel 7a. Speaking of charging, apart from a 5W power output to the Pixel 7a, it can deliver up to 7.5W to Apple iPhones and 10W to Samsung phones. Additionally, it has a simple and compact design, with an anti-slip rubber on top. So, if you need a no-frills, affordable option, this is worth considering.
Wireless charging on the Pixel 7a
While it’s great that Google’s Pixel 7a supports wireless charging, it’s only adopted the bare minimum Qi wireless standard, known as the Baseline Power Profile (BPP). That means it lacks the fast wireless charging of its higher-end siblings such as the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. Instead, you get a bare minimum of 5W charging, which will leave you reaching for a USB cable and power brick when you’re in a hurry.
However, the silver lining is that this also means you don’t need to worry too much about specs when choosing a wireless charger for your Pixel 7a; as the word “baseline” suggests, any Qi-certified charger in existence will provide the necessary power, and there’s no point in opting for a more powerful model unless you have other devices that can draw the extra juice. The only exceptions are Google’s official chargers — the Pixel Stand 2 and the original Pixel Stand — which can deliver 7.5W of power.
Note that while your Pixel 7a doesn’t need a charger that delivers more than 5W, you also can’t hurt your phone by using a more powerful charger. Like most phones, the Pixel 7a will only draw as much power as it needs.
The top Pixel 7a wireless chargers
There’s no shortage of high-quality wireless chargers that can offer 5W charging for the Pixel 7a, but the Anker 335 stands out among the best. It can simultaneously charge two devices and with a bit of DIY modification can even charge a Pixel Watch. Its stand-type spot for juicing up the phone is also helpful when you want to have a video call or watch YouTube while charging.
While it doesn’t come cheap, Google’s Pixel Stand 2 will give you slightly faster charging plus extra features like automatically triggering a photo slideshow whenever you drop it on the stand. It’s still a hard sell for a mere 50% improvement in charging speeds, but it’s worth considering if you also have a Pixel 6, Pixel 7, or Pixel 8 series phone in your home, since it can deliver up to 21W to a standard Pixel and up to 23W for a Pixel Pro.
However, if you’re a budget-conscious buyer, the very affordable Yootech 10W Wireless Charger will more than meet the Pixel 7a’s wireless charging needs, and it comes in several exciting colors, too.
