2 Minute Tuesdays

I’ve talked a bit about my new position as Training Manager for SentryOne. Because this is my passion, I’m working hard on putting together a usable, scalable solution for what our customers, partners, and employees will need. One piece that I’m cognizant of is that there are different learning styles and even different processes depending on whether you’re just trying to figure something out or you need to understand a concept.
2 Minute Tuesday
The first project that we’re tackling is a method for our customers to get up and running as quickly as possible. Any new software solution requires some training to understand it, but I remember from my days as a DBA, I might not ever have a solid, uninterrupted hour. What we wanted was relatively short, consumable bits of information to assist our customers in getting the best value out of our products.

So we’ve created the concept of 2 Minute Tuesdays. When someone purchases a SentryOne product, the next Tuesday they will receive an email with our first 2 Minute Tuesday video and each Tuesday afterwards they’ll receive one or more emails that cover ways to understand and make use of our solution. We’re working hard to keep each of these around two minutes, so it doesn’t take up much of your day. There will also be links to associated documentation, a link to contact the training department, a link to contact support and a link to the 2 Minute Tuesday library. That way if you are looking for something specific, like creating a condition, you can go directly to that video.

I’m excited about this and it will be going live on December 26th. This is just the first of a few different projects that we have lined up for the new year. It’s going to be challenging, but I’m incredibly enthusiastic about all of it. If anyone has any questions or suggestions, I’d be more than happy to have some conversations. My email address is ledwards@geeksforgeeks.org. Yes, I realize the potential danger of putting your email address out in public, but I think I’m up for it. 🙂
